The brief
Paperhouse publishes eight books a year and treats every one like an object. Their website treated them like inventory. Common Room brought me in to design and build the new catalogue alongside their identity work.
What we made
Each book gets a page that reads like its jacket copy: cover, first lines, the people who made it, and a pre-order button that never shouts. The journal publishes essays from their authors on the same CMS.
How it went
Pre-orders tripled for the spring list, and the editors now publish their journal without touching a template.
